Hello friends! It’s been a whirlwind summer. How is it already, like, late August?
How are you? How is your summer? Over here it’s hot and the sun sets at practically 9pm and I’m not complaining. Long warm summer days are right up my alley. We had some friends come to visit for the 4th of July, took a vacation, saw Taylor Swift in concert and witnessed dear friends get married. Here is our summer and general July shenanigans, in photodump style.
The week before July 4th, two of my oldest & dearest friends BreAna and Sarah came to Philly to visit. July 4th has always been dubbed “our holiday,” since we spent every single one together when we were kids. Not to mention, July 4th is always Sarah’s birthday week!
Thursday night, we tried out a place called Ralph’s for Italian food…you haaaave to go there if you’re ever in Philly. We found out Taylor Swift had eaten there while in Philly last year, so clearly, I had to go. I had squid ink pasta that was out of this world. BreAna arrived later that night so we swung by the airport to get her on the way home. When she arrived it felt like the weekend could really get started!Friday was a day of sightseeing, Philly cheesesteaks and day drinking. My kind of Friday.
On the 4th we had a blast hosting a little barbecue at our house on the new patio (it’s finally finally finished!) Our friends Laura & Adam brought their tiny Boston Terrier, Garee (the Puggles were PUMPED). We grilled burgers and drank watermelon margaritas while the dogs ran around and played. Once the sun went down, some other friends came late & brought some major fireworks which were loud and beautiful and theatrical. Lola and Barney were not amused with the fireworks AT ALL, and I ended up putting them inside once the loud ones started going off because they got so nervous! But we humans loved it. Successful 4th of July! And this is the only decent photo I have to show for it.A few weeks after that I got to go to DC to chaperone my cousin Gracie at her first concert ever. Although, I don’t know if “chaperone” is the right word to use, especially since I think I was just as excited as the 9 year old I chaperoned…because we went to see Taylor Swift, y’all. Dancing like maniacs, singing too loud and eating way too much cotton candy was basically required.
Before I left, I made sure to spend some QT with my new cousin Brody. What a precious little peanut. Nicole, Brody and I went to breakfast for some much needed one-on-one cousin time before I hit the road to drive back home.So that’s a little bit of July in photos. I hope your summer is sunny and beautiful. Talk soon!
